Pompom seemed like she was wheezing last night - when I gave her a cuddle she sounded really wheezy.. this morning - although she still came out wheeking for her breakfast ahe was sneezing/coughing sounded a bit strangulated.. otherwise she seems normal! ( lively and enjoying her food) Should I leave it a bit to see how she is or is it a vet trip today? :{:{:{

Is there anything you can think of that may have set off the sneezing/wheezing - dusty hay, bedding, etc (washing powder if using fleece)?

If there is not an obvious environmental reason I would go to the vet asap - breathing problems can become serious very quickly.

Thankyou for replying so quickly Suzy! Well they have just come indoors for the winter - so have been on megazorb/straw and hay but now are on fleece. I wash the fleece in non-bio with no fabric softner. they have dust free hay.. but it could be the change of coming indoors?

I would be inclined to get a check up done then, the change in temps from outside to indoors can be a trigger. Hopefully it's nothing - but better safe than sorry on this one.

Right. Will do then - she is only a year old I would hate to loose her :-( Will let you know what the outcome is. Thanks Suzy x

I agree with suzy. Mine are constantly at the vets from wheezing etc. Mine are very prone to chest infections. Alot of the time they arent as bad as i think they are :) Once Darwin had to get put on an oxygen tank because his was that severe.
Its always better to get them checked.

I'm at the vets that often, usually atleast twice a month and they know exactley who i am and what my name is :))

The vet said that she could hear nothing wrong! Bizarely Pompom seems to have stopped sneezing after I changed her bedding back to the megazorb?! I wonder if it WAS the washing powder that I used on the fleece? I am keeping a very close watch on her anyway- I might try the fleece again but give it an extra wash in clean water to remove detergent.. :{
