Now I think I'm just being worried for nothing (maybe). I've had 2 Male guinea pigs since july and since then one of them (chips) has always sneezed maybe 3 or 4 times a day...sometimes more. This like I said has been happening since we have had him. He eats well and goes to the toilet often. Just recently I've started to notice he has sleep like we would get in the morning only in the corners of his eyes. Should I be concerned. Like I said he eats and goes to the toilet often and has been like this since we have had him. Surely if it was a big concern he would be doing it more.

I'm thinking maybe I should monitor his weight a bit more or just take him to be sure. Any advice is welcome.

Thankyou,

Kelly x

It could just be that a bit of hay or dust is irritating his airway and he needs to sneeze it out. The sleep in the corner of the eye in my experience indicates that he is not cleaning himself enough so perhaps a vet check would be wise to be sure what is happening.

How often do you monitor his weight? We recommend weekly but when there is a suspected illness we often recommend switching to daily at the same point in the feeding cycle in order to be in a position of picking up any illness promptly

:agr: Having a vet check if you have concerns is never a bad thing!
Let us know how you get on
