Snowed in - almost out of piggie food!

I'm totally snowed in and my guineas dried food is getting low! There is enough for today and tomorrow, then I'm all out. Also I was planning on getting a new bale of hay this weekend - if I can't get there I'll be out of hay too!

I have plenty of veggies for them - did a bulk buy on monday.

Anyone got any ideas of food I could temporarily use for a day or so instead if worst comes to worst and I can't get out tomorrow?

I have oats, burgess rabbit food and brown bread. Don't know if they can eat these things, but I'm wondering if I should give them some to make their dry food last longer?
 
I think I've read they're okay without the dried food for a couple of days but the hay is more of a problem. Do you know anyone with a 4X4 you could beg/bribe to get you supplies, or someone with snow chains for the car? You've probably already thought of that but its all I can think of right now, unless the nice farmer does deliveries to piggies in distress :(|). Hope it doesn't come to that and you get a mini-heatwave to melt all the snow away.
 
I'm not sure but rabbit food may be okay for a few days. Isn't the main problem the lack of vitamin C in it?

As for hay - hmm really don't know. Are supermarkets by you doing deliveries still? I know some are. Maybe you could get some delivered?
 
Pretty sure supermarkets aren't doing deliveries but thinking about it friends of mine live opposite a pet shop about 2 miles away so I think I will check with them if its open and if it is I can always walk and get a bag of hay/food if weather is still bad when I run out.

I have 10 little mouths to feed tho so petshop bags never last very long - much better if I can get to the farm shop soon where I can get a 10Kg sack!

Thanks for help/advice. Also I suppose the bunny pellets would be ok if essential, but don't want any upset tummies - so only last resort if petshop is shut.
 
rabbit food will be ok ive used that when the piggie food has gone and vice versa.maybe mix the rabbit food into the piggie food,you could maybe ask a neighbour for more veggies?try and limit the hay you have to stretch it out.good luck hun
 
Or phone the farmer, explain the situation, since you've bought from them before he may be sympathetic/helpful :)
 
Check the pet shop is open first. It will do in a pinch.

I also have 10 so know what you mean about it not lasting long!
