i just took my two pigs to the vets in pets at home for a piggie m-o-t, which went fine,

but while i had the piggies with me i went and got some hay quick. when i got to the till i made a point of putting the carrier well away from the hay and the till (i couldnt put the carrier on the floor as i have arthritis and my back and hips are giving me some problems at the moment! :{), anyway, the boy serving goes over to the pet carrier, picks it up and turns it upside down to scan it! it even has a see through top and you would think he could feel the weight of the pigs?! anyway, I'm thinking about complaining but would it be classes as my fault for not putting the carrier on the floor? or should the boy of checked it first?

it might sound silly but I'm so angry and need to vent! grrrr

What a total twit he is!!

Sorry that this happened but maybe you could have a word with the manager, explain what has happened and that staff should be more observant! Good luck anyway I'd most likely shouted at him!

He should have checked. You were completely in the right to say that sorry, but this was your private carrier with your pets inside! Especially as you had put it clearly away from the stuff you've bought.

In defence of the boy I have to say that if you scan in items all day long as quickly as possible (who likes to wait at a till?), the only thing you look for is the bar code - and some people really stack their stuff just higgledy piggledy all over the place!

Oh no I hope your piggies are ok?
Even if the thick-o behind the counter was on autopilot he surely must have felt the weight of your piggies inside?!
Well lets hope he's learnt a lesson about scanning carriers without checking inside
x

I can understand him thinking you were buying it, but surely the weight would be a give away? I'd have a word with them, the staff should know the products they sell well enough to know when something does or doesn't have an animal in it!

Are your piggies ok?
