That their guinea pigs have to live outside due to allergies?
It really gets me down. I had guinea pigs inside for 3 years and I loved it. I loved hearing them wheek when I walked down the stairs. And knowing they were safe and warm inside.
Now they are in a shed in my backyard and it's just not the same. I do have electricity to the shed which is nice because I have a heater in there for them. And I can go out and turn on the lights at night to sit with them. But I miss having them inside.
You are still looking after them well and that's the most inportant thing really and they are still warm and healthy and as long as they get veggie's I'm sure they are happy so try not to be sad
My piggies have to live outside as well :0 It doesn't bother me so much during the summer but when it gets to this time of year, it really gets me down
The do have a hutch cover, insulation, snugglesafe heat pads, cosy beds and plenty of hay but I still feel bad
I can't have mine outside, I just wouldn't sleep (well I don't sleep properly but even more so) i'd be running out there every two seconds! LOL I'm realy sorry you guys have to keep yours outside and that you're unhappy about it... if you ever need someone to talk to about anything PM me I'll always reply *hugs* x
Mine are outside but it's not not practical for me to have them all inside, my boys are in their new & improved hutch and my girls are inside whilst I sort their hutch out.
But now I've sorted out a gazebo with waterproof sides it's a bit like a (colourful) shed and I'll continue to seek out ideas to make their hutches more warmer.
I go out to the boys at least 4 times a day and my daughters are always down there
Four of mine are outside I hate it! I have two in a hutch in my sons room because they didn't have their winter coats but will have to go outside next year as I have breathing problems if they are indoors (my son is happy I don't go into his room much).
I have two sets of hutches for the outdoor ones nighttime ones with lots of hay and cardboard boxes to snuggle down in and hutch snuggles and hugger and I also put a thick sleeping bag over the front, they are under a trap. tent structure.
Daytime ones which have a cosy bedroom with lots of hay and a run below so that they can exercise if they want to but hide if they need to.
It's not ideal I would love they all inside playing where I can see they but I just can't.
