So proud got through 4 piggies nails in 10mins

It was such a good nail session today I'm so proud of myself.

I used to get a bit nervous and stressed and it rubbed off on my pigs. They used to screem blue murder, rip their legs out of my hands and more often than not I'd end up with scratches from sharp newly cut nails.

Today I was firm but re-assuring and it worked so well. Apart from Tiger doing low rumblings at me they all just let me get on with it. not one of them screeched or pulled their legs away and I did 64 nails in around 10 mins.

I can't believe I've finally grasped how to do it. I put them on my knee on fleece so they are comfy talk to them nicely all the time, quickly do their nails, if they try to pull away I hold them gently so they can't get out of my grasp and then move their paws back to where I can cut them. I also carry them back to the cage in the fleece so as not to get scratched in the eagerness to get back to their cages afterwards!

I'm really proud of them too as I don't like to restrain them at all as they get stressed so they are generally free to bite me if they wish, but they are so good. They now have a pile of veg as a reward!

well done! I hate cutting the piggys nails, I too get nervous but it has to be done!
