It's cucumber for my boys! Spring greens are a close second though!
They get a lot of spinach too & recently Freddy's started looking at me as if to say 'is that it? I want something more interesting' haha! So spoilt!
Grass although some also go mad for peas in pods, peppers are always a hit and half a grape or an apple slice goes down well for some of them..... then there's herbs.... and carrot....oh dont forget corn on the cob leaves.... oh toooo many to mention.... but grass would win I think in a contest
x
Rods favorite was grass.....every time I gave him some he would let out this long low purr he just LOVED it and couldnt get it down his neck quick enough!
My first pig Spike used to love lavender. We'd free range him round the garden, he'd run to the lavender bush sit under it and stay their munching. Not sure how healthy it was for him now :{
My girls now both love curly kale, peppers and corn on the cob
Lacey goes mad at Spinach, its like she can smell it before I open the fridge, she gets soo excited even if I just get some milk for a cuppa as she thinks the fridge is hers... cucumber is also a fav and carrots and recently my toes, she seems to like to nibble those
For nearly 3 years it was consistently baby sweetcorn, but he won't eat it at all anymore. Favorites are now green beans (but only the extra fine ones), red pepper and timothy hay.
Peppers, hands down. My pigs will do just about anything for it! Before Willow came along, my original two girls wouldn't touch the stuff, and the youngins (now grown up) copied the girls. Now they'll stand on each other, shove each other out the way and give me the evil eyes if they dont get their pepper!
Mine love curly cale so much ( I put it in one of those little metal balls with a tinkly bell underneath) if I run out for a day or two they get really miserable. They go crazy for melon but I don't give it very often. I wish they would eat peppers or tomato or grapes. Sometimes I try them with a bit of something that they always refuse just in case they've changed their mind!" ") ")
My boys eat everything I give them but if I had to pick a couple of favourites for each they would probably be:
Jasper - celery (the leaves particularly) and green beans
Wilbur - celery (the stalk particularly) and tomato
Elvis - cucumber and corn on the cob
Elvis' future cagemate - ? ( just got little Elvis and he's booked to go boar dating as soon as he's out of quarantine!)
All love grass and dandelions, and tons of hay of course - particularly when it's stuffed in a paper bag which Jasper particularly loves, thank you to the person on the forum that gave me that idea! Woke up to find him snuggled into the bottom of the bag with a little 'hay snug' around him.
