Hi, my two sisters who have lived very happily together for almost 2 years suddenly seem to hate each other! Smudge has always been more dominant, getting to food quicker , being bossy etc, but just this week she is virtually attacking Ginger and biting her. Ginger is obviously terrified and tries to get away.
I have had to seperate them, including inside their hutch which is such a shame. They are making all the growling/chattering noises I've read about and would really like some advice as what to do next.........they were very happy up until now and I dont know what to do!

Hi Jessica,

Welcome to the forum. I would give them two of everything ie bowls etc and see if that helps. I wouldn't seperate unless blood is drawn.

Good luck,

Louise
:)

I got two boars earlier this week and they are doing the same thing. They always fight over food and actually they got into a big fight two days ago when they got a sniff at the girls. But I plan on going out to buy another feeding bowl real soon.

Thanks for the advice.........since posting my last they seem to have settled down- separating them just seemed to make things worse in the end. I have a feeling Ginger might be 'in season' because Smudge is nuzzling into her rear end and I saw her nibble at her, not bite but just a gentle gnaw ( if there can be such a thing! ). They have been out in their run in the garden which always cheers them up and I've given them lots of their favourite food in the hope of distracting them from any nastiness.

anyway, fingers crossed they have made up, my daughter was getting very upset by the whole thing

thats good news and good luck hope everything stays ok between them! :)

that sounds like really good news O0 i hope all goes well in the future!
