Thought id share some of the guinea pigs that i have fostered the last 6 months. I tend to do shorter term fostering, so a piggy that requires close monitoring for a week, or has a short course of medication so isn't available for aoption comes to my house.

My first foster was Karl, the handsome and enigmatic Himi boy, who had trouble gaining weight. We later discovered after mixing him with a number of suitable boar friends that living with other males just seemed to stress him and make him depressed, causing him to stop eating. The decision was made to neuter him & he is now happily rehomed with a pretty girlfirend by a lovely family.

After his bath to get some of his gross dead skin off (his coat and skin were in horrid condition when he arrived)

Running about on my bed ...

John was the next, he had an ulcerated eye so was with me whilst it was being treated, he was here over christmas week. Very sweet and squeeky little boy he is too. (Excuse my inbreeding expression like I'm looking at him like i dont know what he is )

Pablo, Diego and Roman oh my! I had these boys here for a week also and were part of the "300 in herts" lot. Absolutely gorgeous friendly, talkataive inquisative little tykes. I just want to ^) them all the time. These are my perfect pinkies!

I've also had 11 girls over for a massive slumber party in my shed, but i won't bombard you with those ... (just yet)

Aww, they are all totally gorgeous! Well done on the fostering too, what a wonderful thing to do!

Oh they're lovely and so lucky to have had you as a foster Mum. x

you are obviously better at fostering than I was! I kept one :))

well done to you for doing this vital job

Actually so have I! Roman, Pab's & Diego came as a group of 4, split into pairs, Deigo and Pablo love one another but Roman beat his "friend" up ... so ... i kept him ") he's now happily paired with my Harvey, but i absolutely have no room for piggies of my own now so i can foster without colateral damage on my bank account!

the one I kept was aggressive and you couldn't handle him - the rescue didn't think he would ever be rehomed

two years down the line and he is the most snuggly boy in the world (we've just had a 45 minute cuddle on the sofa :<>), he was neutered and lives with my two girls

What lovely foster piggies. It's very rewarding to foster isn't it, even though sometimes it's heartbreaking.
Please bombard us with the girlies! :))

Thankfully thus far nothing upsetting has happened with my fosters, although we did think it was touch and go with Karl for a while. Thankfully i can be pretty tough skinned about such things so i hoping if it ever arises i wont get yself to upset. It is lovely fostering though, expecially piggies like Karl he was a lot of work over many months with him not just by me but other people too. It was the best feeling ever when he was re-homed, (and even better that it was to people i had homed piggies to previously).

They are all sooooo beautiful, very lucky piggies to have such a brill foster mom. Think fostering is an amazing thing to do. Well done.

What lovely fostering stories xx>>>

I am a foster Mummy but cant seem to grow a thick skin, infact I think over the last year I gotten softer.
Also if any have life long problems they will end up stopping.

I do so love the highs of seeing my foster pigs go off to forever homes, I like the fact that I am given responsibility by the rescue to find new homes, talk over with new adopters, homecheck, sort out vet appointments etc, Vet fees are the one thing I don't pay for thankfully, as last month alone for the Guinea Pig & Rabbit side of the rescue bill was £2000. :...

Looking forward to the girl pigtures ;)

Aww Thank you Glynis, i do love John, he's a super piggy, very good natured considering how his life has started.

Going to start adding the girlies photos now :) These girls were also part of the big rescue being organised in Herts at the moment. They were only with me for a few nights whilst we got things organised for them, but had run of our 10x8" shed plus a run we attached to the door for a few days ..

This is Steph (but i wish i'd called her Dolly), my favorite from the group, a very bold and cheeky girl who loves to rup up to the bars to eet you and have her food.
