I know I'm not, I could just do with the reminder. The goblins have been non stop screechy for a while now and I know I can't get them to stay quiet, I'm just...I'm trying to ignore it as much as possible. They've just been fed, they have water. I might go and change their water but it's not going to stop them screeching and I know it's a noise designed to guilt trip me as much as possible.

So yeah, a reminder would be much appreciated lol. :flag:

you are doing a great job. Animals are just like kids, they know how to push your buttons 😂.

you are doing great Lorcan.ive skinny pigs, they wheek loudly everytime i go pass the guinea pig room.i ignore them.ive a feeding schedule when i give veg, pellets, change water and hay morning and evening.all your piggies get 5 star care.

Your boys are just letting you know how much they love you (&food)! You are looking after them very well.
Also don’t forget all the spiders that have decided to move in, who must think your place makes a super home. 🤣

You are doing a brilliant job with the boys Lorcan.

Honestly some piggies just like everyone to know they are there, and need attention.
Ruby was one of those pig - she would thunder up and down her cage and hurl herself screaming a the bars for no reason at all!

They kind of remind me of teenagers sometimes - they walk into the room and want everyone to acknowledge them, so make as much fuss as possible just sitting in a chair.

You are doing a great job Lorcan ! They’re clever little things and know how much you love them that they’ll do anything to make you feel guilty !
They have everything they need especially a devoted hooman 🥰

Hello, my piggy’s do this as well , recently they have started to call for me and my husband when they are feeling lonely with each other, I think they just want more time with you bonding

You are doing an amazing job with the boys. Skinny pigs are soooo demanding. Ours woke me up at 4am squabbling over a hidey. They have 4 but both wanted the same one. I chucked a handful of hay in and left them to it.

Never a dull day when you have skinnies.

You’re a great slave! Look at what you provide for those wee guys! They’re in piggy heaven 🤣. You’ve just been ‘blessed’ 🤪 with a couple of characters! Show them how to braid - maybe they’ll shut up if they have some handicraft to do!

Get back to your Norn Iron roots and tell them to “Shut yer bakes!”

I've groaned much worse at them over the past few days lol. Thankfully they don't understand English! (Or Norn Iron for that matter)

Speaking of, the other morning I went in in the morning and could only find Cam, who poked his nose out of one of the hidey doors. I was like, "Uh, Bann?" Cam poked his head back in and then I swear, in perfect sync, the pair of them both stuck a nose out of each door in the hidey at once. :))

You are doing an amazing job so keep going. Piggies learn very quickly how to wheek for attention…and to convince us they are fading away because they’re (supposedly) starving. We just have to be strong and not give in!

Their joy is a testament to your amazing care. I wouldn’t mind swapping and coming to live there instead. I promise I won’t be as noisy. You may not know I’m even there…🫣

But then he might forget to feed you.

What age do they really start squeeking loudly ?

mine are about 3-5 months old and only had them a week . they make happy noises and squeal but no full volume yet !

is it age related or are mine just less vocal ?

Its not age related. Some piggies speak a lot, others not at all. Mine aren’t particularly vocal piggies but if I’m late with their dinner and getting them back into their shed then I can hear them squeaking in their garden run and calling.
Equally, they’ve not been with you long enough to have settled in (it usually takes weeks to months for them to fully settle) so give it time and they may become more vocal

Understand. Mine are inside at the moment because I’ve got some work being done outside at the end of the month.

thet are moving to a lovely garage after that, but outside the back door .

sure I’ll hear them then.

thanks.

@Mon59 I have had guinea pigs before, but even Comet, who was previously my most vocal pig and couldn't even be quiet when he was asleep, had nothing on my current pair. They are always loud and always prepared to get louder if they think I'm ignoring them. I'm convinced it's a Skinny thing, rather than an age thing.

I just had an in-home appointment and at least 50% of the hour was spent facepalming at the shrieks from upstairs. :td: Thankfully the person in question has met them before and knows they're just trying it on, lol.
