I'm so upset!

Patrick fell into Fred and Wilma's cage. I found him traumatised in the hayloft. His jaw is swollen and they are all in a state!

Fred's eye and lip is bit, Patrick is in a sorry state everyones had tuffs of fur pulled out and I can't believe it.

Wilma looks fine.

oh no didn't he learn from last time poor little thing. Trinity vets is open tomorrow in maidstone good piggie savy vet if you are worried. x

I don't know how it happened all the cage doors were opened. 8...

He's at the vet first thing anyway, so will get a full check over tomorrow.

I'm so upset! MY poor boys!

Patrick def has came off worse.

Oh no! Poor Patrick. Hope both he and Fred are okay and it looks worse than actually it is.

Patrick probably had the shock of his life coming face to face with Fred!

xx

poor little love :( he'll be ok sweetie have you got parsley? soothes all ills! heard on good authority from my boys it is great for shock and how can you not trust those little piggie faces ;) is he moving ok?

Oh no. I hope they are all okay. HUgs to you. What a fright you must have got.

What an awful shock for both you and them. Poor boys. Hope all their cuts and bruises heal quickly.
I can't think what could have happened with the doors- Patrick must have made an escape route. You haven't been happy with the doors for a while. Tie them up good and tight tonight and have a proper look tomorrow when the fright's worn off a bit.

Big hugs hun. Just a frightening and unfortunate accident. xx

Sounds like a terrible shock for you all, you poor thing. Hopefully it looks worse than it is but at least you already have the vets appt to make sure.

I'm sure they'll settle down soon enough but if you have some Rescue Remedy to hand, that might be useful (for them as well as you!)

I'd keep a close eye on them over the next few days (as I know you already do) just in case there are any 'nicks' which aren't noticeable right now. They're probably all fine, but it's pretty impossible to check over every little cm of skin, under all that hair, and a little un-noticed wound could perhaps become infected. I don't want to scare you or anything, just keep an eye out x

Now the initial trauma is over, they don't look too bad!

Patrick is clearly shaken, but who wouldn't be!

Oh that eye pic made me wince. poor little guys. hope they heal quickly, and big hugs to you. I know how you feel, have had 2 sows have a major bust up today and has left me very upset!

Oh my gosh that's really terrible!:...:... I'm speechless. It had to be a really scary moment to find them like that. mallethead Hopefully Patrick has learned his lesson and the two will calm down soon and be back to their normal selves. xx

Oh those poor boys - I bet they've scared themselves as much as you! The wounds should heal very quickly so try not to worry too much - you use the daktarin mouth gel to ease their wounds on the lips and I usually give Metacam to ease the pain too. It looks like they got off pretty lightly - Fred especially so with that wound so close to his eye. Do check their bodies well - they could easily have a deep puncture wound in a muscle and these take longer to heal than the surface bites that look really nasty but heal well. Armpits is a common spot.

Fred really didn't need this on top of his squeeky wee he had the other day. Best of luck at the vets - do let us know how they get on.

Remarkably enough I think we got off very well. Patrick was more shaken than anything else, I cannot think what happened, When did he fall into the cage? Why did he choose to hide in the hayloft were he could be cornered so easily.

When I returned home Fred and Wilma came to greet as normal, Pebbles was running about her cage (shes clearly not stupid) even though the door was open, she decided the safety of the cage was much better.

Patrick was hid in the hayloft and a miserable sight, he was very traumatised. I presumed Fred had got the better of him giving how I found him. Fred seemed fine.

This morning I've had both boys out to check them over. Fred's lip is huge, but Patricks seems much better. I checked Patrick again for wounds this morning and couldn't find any, they must be there. Fred has a scratch down his back and his eye but overall for 2 boars fighting it certainly isn't as bad as it could have been.

Everyone was very quiet lastnight, but this morning everyone is pottering about and eating although Patricks stopped biting the bars!

We're off to vets just before 9.30, I think the vet will be ok seeing 2 instead of one but I will call and let them know Fred is coming too!

Oopps - was it Patrick that had the squeeky wee then? Fred's lip could be infected already - they don't normally swell up a lot - so antibiotics may be on the cards for him.

Yeah Patrick has the squeaky wee's I really don't want him going though a GA giving the circumstances. I don't normally take my pigs separate but giving I have to take boxes, I might just leave the girls at home.

Fred lip this morning,

I thought it looked swollen but I'm not so sure.

Aww poor little fellas, but it could have been alot worse! Good luck at the vets x

I am sure they will both be absolutely fine Joanne. I have seen much worse lip and chin wounds - let the vet check them over but I am sure nature will take its course with these injuries and they will be fine.
