Sookie definitely either had a bladder infection and/or bladder stones :0

I heard her squeeling while having a wee so we got her out and I checked her bits and there's this white substance around it. Sat her on a throw and kept her there until she had a wee and again she squeeked and there was a white substance in her wee that felt a bit gritty. I've gave her some of the metacam and I'm thinking about starting her on the septrin that we have for Athena until we can get her to a vets.

I also noticed one of her eyes looks a little cloudy, the other is bright and clear but the other as I said looks a little cloudy. Do you think this is something to worry about? She's not off her food but is quite small in comparison to the others at just over 900g

Can you try and wash out her eye with some boiled cold water or optrex eyewash? There might be something small stuck in it or she may have had a scratch or a poke.

What you are describing sounds like sludge (gritty crystals) with a lot of calcium. Best have an x-ray done to see what is going on when you book her in after the weekend. Make sure you ask for a painkiller.

You can give her children's nurofen 0.2 ml until then if you think that she is in a lot of discomfort.

Well I've given her metacam which I'm assuming is better that nurofen?

I'm just so confused though, I've been following the ratewatchers diet for them pretty much since we got them so I can't understand how she's poorly as I didn't think she was getting too much calcium in her diet.

I'll try the water to give her eye a rinse out.

I'm so worried as we go on holiday on Friday so I hate that we're not going to be around to make sure she's ok. I'm going to ring the vets first thing in the morning as they're shut today. Not sure if they're going to be open tomorrow or not with it being a bank holiday but I'll try to get her booked in.

Yeah she drinks just as much as the others, I've checked all the others over ( including Athena ) and she's the only one that seems to have this white substance around her bits.

The white substance is just excess calcium.

I thought it was calcium as Athena was initially getting that.

Steven seems to think Sookie drinks more water then the others.

Been trying to ring the vets this morning but there's no answer so I'm assuming it's shut today. I started Sookie on the Septrin that we have for Athena yesterday and have been giving her just under 1ml of metacam on a morning. She absolutely loves the septrin and literally licks the syringe clean! So at least we don't have to battle to give her it like we do with Athena. Her bits look clean this morning, none of the white sludgey stuff. Will try ringing the vet first thing tomorrow to see if I can get an appointment

Got a course of septrin for Sookie, though she does seem to be a little better then she was, she doesn't seem to be in as much pain. I'm so worried about leaving her though, it's my sister and her fiance who will be watching them whilst we're on holiday so I know they'll be well cared for, just obviously I can spot when something's wrong whereas she won't be able to ( unless it's obvious ).

Thankfully Sookie absolutely loves the septrin ( she climbs up at me to get it and then will happily suck on the syringe to take it ) so they shouldn't have any problems in giving her the medicine. I just hate that we're not going to be around to make sure she's ok.

Picked up the septrin for Sookie after work, only cost £3 odd for 18 days worth which I couldn't believe it was so cheap! Don't even have to catch her to give her it, as soon as she spots the syringe she comes running over to take it! Hopefully this will sort her out, think we'll sort out getting an xray for Athena when we get back from our hols as well
