Apologies if this question has been asked before but I wonder if anyone can help me?
We have 2 guinea pigs about 9 months old and I put them out today and noticed that 1 of them has 2 red sores on the back of his legs. Throughout the Summer I have put them in their run every day and now even as it is getting colder I am putting them out for most of the day. They have a little box in the run which they can go in which I have put hay in - but is the fact that they are spending so much time outside on wet grass causing these sore back legs?
Also in their hutch I would say that I clean it out every other day so it is never that damp in there.
My questions are does anyone know what is causing these sores, what should I do now - go to the Vet or just apply some cream and in the winter how much time should they spend outside - and does it matter if some days they don't go out and just stay in their hutch.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Nicky
