Hi,

I have a five week old baby with six sores on different points of her body. Under her mouth, two on her belly, one on her right hand side, one on her right rear leg, one in the middle of her coronet. Weve been switching between the idea of bites from other guinea pigs, mites or fungal. We have had her a week. She was housed with other babies but there was a lot of aggression (they were all female). We noticed when we got her home that she had static lice which we have used lice and easy on. Now we are trying to work out what is causing the sores. They are all about the size of a 5p piece and are scabby and bald and you can feel a hard lump under the skin. We have been using canesten three times a day and we have used topical ivomec on her. They are painful when touched but they dont seem to be itchy as I haven't noticed her scratching them. I feel really sorry for her as I've had to Isolate her and she looks very miserable and lonely. With having no obvious itch is it more likely that these are bite wounds? And if so this would mean I dont have to Isolate her which would be great.

Thanks in advance

Rob
