How old is it befour a sow stops menstruating asuming they do stop ?

Fairly certain piggies don't menstruate exactly, but as far as I know, they are fertile their entire lives.

I thought that they carried on being fertile with seasons throughout their lives but I'm happy to be corrected if wrong.

thanks, l think you are right , l remember now , they dont menstrat as such :tu:

There is no menopause for guinea pigs of either sex. I know of an 8 year old sow of a neighbour's getting pregnant when I was a teenager, with disastrous consquences. :(

They don't really menstruate as such... losing blood as a prey animal is not a smart evolutionary tactic! But guinea pigs don't really have a menopause... they are fertile their entire lives. My elderly pig, turning 6 this month, still has noticeable hormone shifts associated with being in heat.

they come into heat every 17 days for 6 to 12 hours for there entire life.

Shes stopped now, it must have been the stone that caused it, but l will still take her to the vet to be on the safe side
