She’s a trooper .... still wheeking for her veggies with an eye that looked like she’s been in a boxing match 😎

So... , I though she might as well have her veggies why I ring the vet .

Anyway, we’ve been to the vet and needless to say my bank balance is £66 lighter 😀

Poor Sparkle, none of my piggies ever had a haypoke yet (waiting for one of them to stab themselves in they eye as I type this because I just opened a new box of timothy hay for them) but I had a haypoke injury myself once from a dusty spiky bag of timothy hay and it hurt a lot! Cheaper for hoomans but the diagnosis and treatment is basically the same :) Healing wheeks! X

Oh yes , I remember your hay poke ☹️

My current batch of hay is the softest I’ve ever had so it was simply bad luck in Sparkle’s case 👎☹️

Oh bless - that’s a wonderfully Halloweeny themed eye, poor girl. Hope it heals quickly (you’ve certainly caught it quickly).

Oh gosh, poor little girl :( Get well soon Miss Sparkle even with your green eye you are still one of my favourite stunners on the forum. You soooo pretty

Get well soon Sparkle!

Yes, the hay doesn't necessarily have to be sharp. Stanley had his eye scratched with a tiny shard of hay in February, but it was a soft bit of hay that got stuck in and ulcerated Primrose's eye at the end of August. The offending article:

We are crossing fingers and paws for a hay poke-free 2020 here...but I'm not holding my breath!

Poor girl , her eye is looking a bit better today .... but I can clearly see the damage . It must be soooooo. Sore ☹️
She’s on eye drops 3 times a day and I’m giving her Metacam morning and evening .

Oh bless her, that really does like a sore one. :(. Let’s hope she soon feels better. Is she good about having her eye drops?

AMAZING ! She’s on 2 sets with a 1/2 hour gap in between.

I don’t even need to get her out of her carrier to give them. ... I just wash my hands and plop the drop in .

Oh gosh it does look sore. I remember Lily's looked horrendous but despite the look of it the damage was superficial and within a few weeks she was back to normal so fingers crossed for Sparkle
