Kasper is experiencing the joys of sperm rods. He isn't in pain so I'm not worried about that. I'm just wondering how often is normal? I have seen two this week - he eats them when I give them back :)>>>

That's vile! Boy piggies are just so nasty but I love them.

Regarding frequency, I don't have my spermy boy anymore so I have been spared such things but he used to leave 'deposits' everywhere a few times a day so I would think that it is not unreasonable to have a sperm rod a few times a week if he's an 'active' excitable male.

Thankfully my boys are all quite laid back on this front so it's only the odd bit of goo to clean up and like Kasper, Suilven found the quickest way to get (his own, badly aimed) boar glue of his foot was to chew it off himself without waiting for me to sort it....

I did forget to mention the odd bits that appear in his bed...that don't wash off!

Suilven and Kasper would get on great by the sounds of things lol!

Oh lordy - I think I must be very lucky with my boys - or maybe they just aren't old enough yet (7months). I have only had a rod once. Can't say I offered it to him though - would have vomited if he ate it!

I read somewhere that they usually eat it anyway! My boys are the same age so you must be lucky :))

My Rebel is 2 and I've never had one. Stanley was 6 and intact when he died and Bart was 5 and a half when he died, and I don't ever recall any of them having one either, unless they chewed it off in private! :))

You must have piggies with manners :):)

YES! it does not wash off. It gets hard like super glue. My boy does it quite often especially if I give him LOTS of attention which excites him ALOT. Sometimes he gets it on his belly and I have to lay him on his back and cut the hairs gently that it is stuck on his belly. Silly piggie!

One of my boys seems to like mounting and "glueing" his brothers back when out on floor time ! Jasper is brown and it is let's say rather noticeable on his fur :)>>> yuk ! Never quite know what to do when I see it !

Tango gets them on a regular basis, filthy boy. Most of the time he takes care of things himself but the weekly privates clean is always an adventure in piggy smeg :)>>>

I'm sure I'm going to regret asking this ?/ but what is a sperm rod. It sounds totally disgusting:)>>>

It's pretty much what t says on the tin.... As a piggy's penis is mostly inside, a rod of sperm and related material can build up in the sheath covering the penis, in the shape of a rod hence 'sperm rod'

Some piggies rarely get them, some very excitable piggies have sperm rod and boar glue problems more often! (Boar glue is an affectionate term for perm deposits as they are so sticky and hard to remove from clothes, cosies, fur etc!)

:)>>> :)>>> I didn't know that, it sounds quite revolting. Dougal is a neutered boy and he has never had any such problems. I can see why some people might have a preference for girl piggies now :))

Having a neutered boy removes all those sorts of problems! Boys have their disgusting moments but I love them. I've never had girls so I am used to a house full of stinky boars :)

I am thinking that if the sperm rods become more frequent that it would be best for Kasper to have him neutered. I've only ever had boy piggies so I don't know if they smell bad :P

It's got me thinking again this discussion ..... Jasper had a horrible yucky matted bit on his fur on his back that appeared mysteriously quite recently! I'm now wondering if it's been his brothers boar glue ( yuk ) . So tricky to remove it and it was an odd place to be matted if you know what I mean. Could that be what it was ?

Most likely :)>>>

The ASBO Twins do this constantly

you can see (from his cropped hair) that it is in the same place that I cut some away a day before.
