i just realised my guinea pig scruffy has a splinter right next to his eye, its not very big but its really close to his eye
whats the best way to remove it without hurting him? i dont think hes in pain but he doesnt like me touching that area.
how do i remove it please help! thanks

Take him to the vet or use tweezers to get it out while he is sleeping.

Don't do this! If you start poking tweezers near his eye while he's asleep, he's going to jump and probably have tweezers stuck in his eye!

i would take him to the vet but its bank holiday so there arent any open
if i leave it could it get infected?
or is there any way to get it out?

Oh, I didn't think it was THAT close to his eye if it wasn't bothering him. Is emergancy vet still open?

Have you tried sitting above him and blowing down, my piggy occasionally gets hay near his eye and if you sit above him and blow down it sometimes moves to there cheek and you can get it off easier (:

its ok now my mum managed to get it out with her hands
he flinched a bit but we just wiped it with a wet cotton bud but there was no blood or anything he is fine, he was running around and popcorning
it was properly stuck in the skin around his eye, i dont think it was hay it was i tiny piece of wood as he chews his hutch alot so thats probably why
anyway thanks for all the help
