I think these are also called collards? My piggies like them but I read somewhere that they are not very good for them, they are one of those that can cause stones rolleyes Can anyone please shed some light on this & if it's true? Thanks!

Spring greens are not one of the things that should be part of a daily diet, but it is perfectly OK to feed them occasionally.

I've always fed greens without problems but I do give 3-4 different veggies each day so nothing is fed in excess. The greens are probably fed once or twice a week. The piggies love them! :))

Thanks, I will have to have a look where I read it. I get the big leaf stuff & I don't keep greens very long as I throw them out quite soon after I get them, although they are kept in the fridge & brought out & washed at least 30 mins before I give them. A bag would last a few days if I fed it every day, so I am giving it every other day (just once) will that be okay? I won't give them it again after this week for a few more weeks but Morrisons was doing them for 50p so I thought they can have them just this once & I chucking them away doesn't seem so extravagant then rolleyes

How's Kizzy doing Jo? And the little lady with the poorly feet? :)

You should eat the left over greens, they're very good for you, we get so caught up in giving our piggies the healthy stuff and then neglect ourselves.rolleyes

Ooo yes why did I never think of that? :red We do eat broccoli, loads of salad ourselves including sweet peppers anyway but Spring greens & cabbage don't appeal so much :))

I'm sure they will be fine. Dont worry. You would have to feed them every day for weeks before it started becoming a problem. (And then its not every piggy!)

Kizzy and Roxanne are ok, Kizzy still on medication and rattling but we believe that is the way she will stay now due to the damage she suffered. Roxy is jumping around on her stumps as if she is training for the olympics! Bless them. :)

Oh bless her! That's great news, I often think of Kizzy & poor little Roxanne with her toes; they couldn't be in a better place though :)

Cook your leftover greens and some potato and make some homemade bubble and squeak yummmm:))

so THATS what collard greens are!

I'm a member of a US based chameleon forum and they keep going on about them being one of the best gut loading foods - and now I know I have them in my fridge! Thanks! :))

Ew that sounds horrible "gut loading" :)) Does that refer to piggies or us hoomans? rolleyes

Basically.... you get some live insects. Then you feed the insects nice healthy foods, then when they're full, you feed the nice full-of-goodness insects to the chameleon :))

What's not to love :))

Investigating his new trees!
