I feed my pigs twice a day and my parents spoil them with snacks that I tell them not to give to them. Well, just recently they became very needy and won’t shut up. They are constantly squeaking and it is honestly getting on my nerves. They stand on top of their houses and screech. Idk is they are trying to let me know something but it is constant. They run to me when I walk into the room and they get time outside of their cage. They get a lot of time outside and they have a massive cage. Is there anything I can do to make them stop squeaking so much?

Wheeking is a common way for guinea pigs to communicate and one thing we love about these little babies. Some are much quieter but others like to talk a lot. Two of mine are talking loudly many times a day while the others will only join the chorus this clearly when they are hearing a crinkly bag or hearing from the kitchen any noise from the kitchen that sound like chopping veggies :-).

I'm afraid that's just something that comes along with being a loving owner of these babies. Ours is in our family room and I'm with them much of the day and night. They do sleep or settle down when the lights are off but when the lights are on and the room is active, they are also happily wheeking loudly and zooming up and down ramps playing.

Some piggies can be very vocal, try and look at it a different way... they must feel very safe and secure with you to talk to you in that way. Some people have piggies that hide and won’t talk, so you must have looked after yours very well and they must love you. Those squeaks are showing you they are happy pigs. Enjoy them
