Rescue is hard work and needs a lot of planning and forethought. You're making a good start by asking, but have a good read through this thread before deciding for sure that you'll be able to go into it: http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=31743
It's a lovely idea and you are doing the right thing by investigating before jumping in head first, but I would recommend contacting some of your local rescue centres you may find some here: http://www.guineapigrehome.org.uk/gp/centres.asp and offer to volunteer with them first. You will be able to gain some valuable insights without having to shell out for all the stuff and not be able to see it through, and it will prepare you for the emotional and financial burdens you will have to face running your own rescue.
