Hi All,

Just wanted to mention that when you are going to collect a pig (Rescue, Free Ads etc) then remember your safety. 99.9% of the time all will be ok, but you never know. Where possible let people know where you are going and take someone with you as there is safety in numbers.

I don't want to scare anyone, but just want people to keep their wits about them. Even people who work for rescues keep yourselves safe!

Don't go out unless your journey is really necessary, there maybe heavy snow falls.

When I went to get Brandy off of a free ad on here it was a girl of about 16 when we got there. She was home alone, everyone else had went out and me and dad could have been anyone! We were there to get Brandy off her but at the same time I wouldn't of thought her parents would have left her home alone with 2 strangers coming to the house. So I think even the people in the free ads should be careful about those who come to their house aswell as the people going to collect an animal.

Yes Al this is England after all, home of mental weather!

Lol yep it cuts both ways make sure if anyone comes to your home that you are safe too. :)

I agree lolseh, i freecycled some toys of my little lads and this woman came for them who asked if she could use the loo. A couple of hours later when I went to the loo myself I noticed the bathroom cabinet door was open (I'm one of these obsessive people who always have to have cabinets/cupboard doors shut) and her fingerprints were on the mirror (another thing I obsessively have to clean off) so I know she had been in there!

I don't know how people can have the nerve to use someones toilet and steal stuff. You would have thought she would have the common sense to shut the door! I always look to see if anything has been taken when someones used our toilet like workmen etc. We keep stuff like medicine in the kitchen anyway so it's not asif they can take stuff like that.

Dont worry, nothing was taken..... it was full of sanitary products and tesco's own brand basic makeup (used) and roll on deodrants heh heh!

Oh no Jane, it was just reading the thread about Saralou going to get some pigs yesterday I was concerned the person was not that genuine. I'm always aware of online safety, I get it rammed down my throat by my dad haha!

Thanks for thinking of me. Will have to come up for a cuppa soon, meet that dog of yours! x
