Hi guys, haven't posted in a little while now! Bit I'm back,🤣 and sadly yet again with another worry as opposed to something good.

Steve's left eye has seemed watery on and off since I returned off holiday (so little less than two weeks). When I say watery I don't mean like discharge etc I mean the fir underneath just occasionally looks a little bit damp- I'd say exactly like after they've cleaned their faces with the cleaning fluid that comes out their eyes. In fact when there has been liquid at the eye it has appeared to me to be cleaning fluid.

I've felt below the eye (tho I am not a vet) and I can't feel a lump or abscess or anything strange as I first assumed that perhaps it might be something like that. He's still fine in himself and some days it's been normal. He can still see out of the eye.

Just wondering if anyone had anything similar. I am going to see a vet, I'm just hoping it isn't serious.

I don’t have any experience but offering my support. Glad you’ve got him booked in and 🤞🏾 it’s not serious. It’s a good sign if he’s eating well and being his usual self ☺️

I've just gone to top up his hay now and give him a goodnight squeeze🤣🤣 and once again the eye seems ok...perhaps it's the hay? Dust?

Thank you all for your support. Now I just need the vet to confirm its nothing serious. ❤️

The eye in the pic is the one in question and it was taken when the eye looked just a bit damp underneath.

Hi!

Eye cleaning fluid is milky white. Watery fluid is a sign of an irritation or even a non-ulceration eye injury. Please always book in your piggy promptly with an eye problem as they can get worse quickly.

The fluid I've seen from the eye/ today just sort of sitting around the eye was milky white. It's just his fur that appeared wet where the fluid had touched it. ☺️ And yes after Mo I'm always checking eyes now so I have been monitoring this and hopefully the vet can pinpoint what it is. Thanks @Wiebke :)

Hopefully it is just something harmless like a blocked tear duct; but only a hands-on examination will tell. All we can do is guess as much as you do just going by your description. ;)
