Hi All

I am looking to make my girls a cake for their birthdays coming up...not a real one from the oven (haha!), just a creative fruit and veg one that they can nibble on. I am just wondering if anyone knows where I can get edible sticks or skewers that are safe to use for this sort of thing? :)

Thank you.

xx

I'd think any wooden skewer from the supermarket it probably ok. They aren't usually coated with anything. Personally, I'd make your cake (cute idea by the way!), cut off the sharp end of the skewer before you give it to them just in case, and then just remove it once they've eaten off the veg.

I've given mine commercial skewer style treats before, and while they might nibble on the stick a little, they won't eat the whole thing anyway, so I don't think you need to be too concerned. :)
