Still Friends?

I have a two story cage and every time I come out to check them they’re both on different floors and they don’t really stay close anymore. Are they still friends or has something happened?

Hi! your piggies are still bonded; they are enjoying being able to do their own thing.
It is a human misconception that piggies need to be joined at the hip and sleep snuggled up. There are a few pairs like that, but the majority will not hang out with their mates all the time and quite enjoy having their own little patch. Many piggies have been or are still kept in too small cages and do not have the choice.

Is it normal when they go close to each other and they’re purring?
