The pigs were extra grumpy this morning. Rosie was rumbling and swinging her butt around as if she’s the scariest most intimidating fluffball to ever live.

Lily was handling her like a champ until even she had enough, next thing I know Rosie bolts to the other side of the cage, covered in wee. She was really upset about that, complaining loudly and shaking her fur. But of course she thought it a good idea to go poking Lily again, only to run away covered in wee once more.

Here’s Rosie dry after a terrifying bum bath that almost ate her. Luckily all was calm after that!

- For clarity, the girls are both in good health! We just had a vet visit a couple days ago here. No issues with cysts, the bigger grumpy sessions are rather rare. I think they just both have big personalities, especially Rosie, bless her. -

Soinds like Rosie was in season. Rumbling and butt swinging isn't always about dominance or being grumpy, it can often be courtship behaviour too, a sign a piggy is "looking for some action". Of course when your choice is limited and your friend doesn't appreciate your behaviour you're going to end up with wee in your face!

Yes the little one is definitely in season! It's rather amusing to watch, I just hope she isn't in too much discomfort. Luckily these butt swinging days are few and far between!

I dont think she will be in discomfort, its not like pmt in humans. Maybe a little frustrated tho 😏

And yet there's people out there who think this is behaviour you'd only get from boars :))

Our skinny pig Dora does this to her poor husboar whenever he gets to close to her bottom. Occasionally this happens when they are having lap time and i end up in the firing line. Numerous pairs of jeans have ended up in the washing machine, i think that maybe i need one of those disposable suits they wear at a crime scene.
