Stopping fibreplex

I don't usually although I sometimes drop it to twice a day instead of three for a couple of days before stopping. It depends if I've been giving antibiotics, if so I will give for 4 days to a week after stopping the antibiotics. It really depends or why I'm giving it and how badly the digestion has been impacted. To be honest it's not something I've thought about it's more instinct.

Hi. Do you need to taper down fibreplex protexin? If so, how please? Thank you so much.

I've usually stopped any probiotics once I was sure that their digestive system was working OK again. With some piggies that was straight forward and I would just stop.

If I wasn't sure, I might do a tester at half-dose for a couple of days and see how that came out at the other end so I could use both the weight and the poo consistency to make up my mind. It takes about 1-2 days depending on the gut activity for any food to get from the mouth to the anus.

But there is no hard and fast rule.

Thank you. I got them on it to help their guts a little bit. I went whammy and was giving them dandelion and burdock roots in the same week (very careless of me 😑) so they had a bit of bloat. They are better now although i have trialled them (after more than 2 days of normal poops) with just 6 grams of rye grass last thursday and that gave them funny poops again this morning. Thankfully it's back to normal again this evening. They are used to having rye grass 2x a week before their gi upset but now after trialling it to them unsucessfully i am so afraid of giving it again 🥲

They are now only on 1x a day only of probiotics - so far so good (apart from that ryegrass trial). So will just touch base. Thank you so much.
