My guinea pig mayhem,(about 4 months old) was making some noises that sounded just like chutting. And then it turned more concerning, it sounded like he was breathing very loudly. It wasn't a wheezing sound but more of a snort. That went on for probably 15 minutes, and then He coughed and seemed to clear his throat and Is now just wheeking, the snorting went away completely. I've heard him make the chutting sounds before and it freaks me out every time. It's mostly at night. Does this sound like it could be a URI?

Guinea pigs have narrow airways so any bits of hay dust can irritate and cause them to cough. Guinea pig chutting is a communication sound.
However, if you are at all concerned about his breathing then you should see a vet. Only a hands on examination can confirm a URI.
