Today I enjoyed my day off and went to vic markets. I returned with a blue lily pad, lettuce and coriander for the boys and a punnet of strawberries and a t-shirt for me.

The boys went mad for the coriander and loved the strawberry that was shared between them. Archie will try to take it from you before it is even at head height (i took advantage of this to get some photos of piggy lips)

Here are some pigtures

What gorgeous piggies you have x) Nice to see them enjoying their treats. I got some strawberries for my pigs, expensive organic ones, and they turned their noses up at them.

Thanks Lily, I love pics of Howard, he comes across all photogenic. Archie is the attention seeker though, not sure if its his age, but i dont remeber the yother two being quite this noisey, bossy and into everything. Right now he is trying to climb onto the laptop

All 5 of my piggies won't touch strawberries :(

They look like they're loving there noms! x)

So his name is Howard - great to put a name to a face. My Peanut Butter is like your Archie - likes to get into everything also and has to be watched like a hawk whenever he is not confined. Hazelnut on the other hand considers any towelling as his natural barrier. I have to put down bath sheets so that he has some room to wander around.

Bernard is the predominantly black tricolour, he's clever but chilled out. My pigs wont eat tomatoes or peach, they are funny in what they will and wont try. I'm about to give archie his first bath, fingers crossed

Oh dear, good luck with the bath! My two don't like them and try to get out. I now bathe them in the laundry sink as it is nice and deep but at his last bath Hazelnut figured out he can get out by running up my arm. So, have to try new tactics next time. I do put a towel in the sink but he disregards the towel barrier at bath time.

Bath went relatively well. Bernard had a hair cut and gave me the look of horror kids get when a mother brings out the bowl for a bowl cut. Both pigs are now 98% dry and demolishing greens, in a run in a warm room. I like to wash mine in the bath and a tub. The tub is where I shampoo them, water is deeper in this so I support their body. The bath has warm water that they can walk around in. I let them stand in that for a bit (so glad my house has ducted heating) and start to relax into the whole being wet thing then, wash them one at a time in the tub and rince them back in the bath. I dont have a hair dryer yet so I use a warmed towel, to towel dry them. While they dont exactly love it tey seem relatively relaxed. They love the cuddles and nom noms after ;) Not sure if i'm doing it right but it does seem to work. They do these weird little hopping hair shakes that i'm guessing are like dogs after they have a bath. I took pics too, might post them in another thread.

I hadn't tried a towel in the bottom of the bath tub, I'll give it a go when I wash them again in a month or two.

Time to get their home nice and clean too :pmallethead

I use the towel only for traction as I worry about broken legs when they constantly try to escape shiny, slippery surfaces. Yours seem to take it much calmer than mine.

And yes they do love being cuddled in the big bath towels after with treats, don't they! I don't use a hair dryer - too worried about the heat. I just towel dry them, alternating between giving them a rub down with the towel and just wrapping them up in it. They are short haired so doesn't take too long and I just treat it as cuddle time.

I don't have a tub, just 2 large walk-in showers, so will have to perservere with the laundry sink.

Sounds like you've got the bathing well in hand. Like you, I pretty much have to do it every month - boys and their grease glands! Only mine seems more like an ordeal than yours.

You did well, my girls don't like strawberries but will eat the tops ! now tho i don't feed them to them cause of them being so sweet (Velvet is diabetic)

I could almost reach out and grab one of those strawberries myself! drool
We went to a wine and cheese night there only a few weeks ago, it was great fun!

yeah the strawberries were really good. I was eating one while Archie was eating lettuce, he got very demanding when he smelt it. I'll keep the sweetness factor in mind, an occasional treat it is

I was eating an apple once and Duke (RIP) walked up sniffed and then promptly took a mini bite...... i didn't think he would........ :(|):(|)

Mine go nuts for apple, iIdont think they would stop if they had an unlimited supply, luck I dont live in tassie anymore they dont have access to an apple orchard :))

OMG.............. oh yes!
ooooooh what apples did you guys grow? what part of Tassie, we've had a couple of lovely hols in Tasmania x)

Oh a beautiful part of tassie x)
I'm not a golden delicious fan, but when they're fresh from an orchard they taste soooooo crunchy and yum x)

they are totally gorgeous - loving the cute mouth picsx)x) Haven't tried my boys with strawberry yet. They would also agree that pepper is delicious although red seems to be better than green :))

x) x) Gorgeous piggies, strawberries are popular with ours also. Thanks for sharing your pigtures
