hey :) Got some fresh strawberries today, but they were put in the garage fridge which is quite cold. Got them out a few hours after realising but cut one and saw a few hints of what could have been frost. Put them in the kitchen fridge since twelve pm ish. Think they're ok? Since frozen food isn't ok for piggies. I don't want to upset piggies system through possible mildly unfreezing. They feel soft as what's normal now and smell nice lol

We pick a lot of fruit over the Summer and always end up freezing some of it.
Over the Winter we occasionally offered the pigs previously frozen (and thoroughly defrosted) blueberries, raspberries and strawberries.
So I think it should be fine, as long as they are defrosted and not too cold.

Aaah strawberry season hurrrah.

Agree with the others, just make sure they are not too cold. I usually sit ours out from the fridge for a little bit so the y go to room temperature.

The piggies were rather boring with the strawberries yesterday. The rats however were far more entertaining over the last one. Think high speed chase up ropes, through tubes and obstacles by one carrying it, he stops to take a bite and one of the chasers snatches it up....and the whole scenario plays out again.

I ended up feeding him one yesterday :D He liked it, but he hadn't had it in so long I was afraid it'd upset his system much to his dismay lol

Thanks for this post's timing - I bought a punnet of early strawbs yesterday and gave the piggies the tops. Can they have the actual strawberry plant itself, if the tops of the berries are fine? I have a small forest in my garden.
