hi all,i have 2 boys and tonight one will not leave the other alone with constant mounting, the one being picked on is not happy, there is no violence but its stressing out the poor boy and i have seen him do a few little wees with blood in,i have read this can happen because of stress, any thoughts ?
thanks

That will be a urinary tract infection. You need to get the piggy to the vet as soon as possible as he will be in pain.

he has just been treated for that with antibiotics , also had xrays and scans which cost the earth,no stones etc so treated for uti and it seemed to get better also i spoke to a well known pig specialist who said stress can bring on blood in the urine.so after tonight's mounting and urine I'm thinking stress ?

Hi - hope you read this. Who was the well known specialist? I've just read another post by someone who's said their vet said the same thing.

My boy just presented with blood in urine and I also think he's stressed, although he's been diagnosed with cystitus.

Does your vet mean that cystitus is brought about by stress, or specifically blood in urine can be brought about by stress with no other under laying medical problems?

I'm trying to research but can't find any information on the internet about this - it's just throwing up old posts on this forum! :)

hi ,yes we discussed that stress can bring on cystitis thus blood in the urine, sorry i should of made that clearer but nether the less its possible.
