Has anybody heard of stronghold selamectin being prescribed for use on guinea pigs. It's just that one of my adoptees has been prescribed this for a piggy that's showing signs of mites.

Selamectin is the active ingredient in Revolution and Stronghold. It is being used in some cases as an alternative to ivermectin although it is not considered to be quite as reliably effective.
You can find information about Stronghold and selamectin on Guinea Lynx: Guinea Lynx :: Antiparasitics

Simon and Kim at The Cat and Rabbit Clinic have given me this once before, when Lola and Bengy (who don't live together) were a bit mitey. One dosage cleared it all.

Kim gave it to one of the TEAS piggies too and it worked well. I normally prefer injectable Panomec but I was very pleased with the results.
