I've been contacting all the rescues near me and none of them have a Neutered male that can be bonded with Baby,

I don't know what to do, she's made it very obvious that she won't accept females and I really think a male would be the way to go but I can't find any in any rescues,

I'm a bit gutted because she's been alone for over a year now nearly 2
And two attempts to bond with females has gone very badly with some bad fights,
They even tried to fight through the bars of the C and C cage when they were side by side.

I don't know what to do,
I'm just not willing to attempt to bond her with any other females because she seems to have a lot of aggression towards them which is not suprisingly knowing her history with females :/ :/
But I don't what her to be alone forever she's quite young still only 4.

I've tried some rescues I could get to at a stretch on the locator but none of those have any either!

Anyone have any ideas?

Have you contacted the Potteries GPR? They have often have neutered boars who are available for sow dates. It may be worth the journey. Currently they have Fanta who is waiting for a new lady friend. https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk...ries-guinea-pig-rescue-stoke-on-trent.149687/
Please contact Helen and Mandy through their website if you'd like to book a date/bonding session.

How far are you willing to travel? Where are you currently based? I got a neutered boar from a rescue not on the rescue locator (just had to be careful because the rescues vet has said they are safe to go with females after 4 weeks which is obviously incorrect). I could PM you some more details of rescues that you can check out and decide for yourself whether you would be happy rehoming from them

I'm located in Derby.
I've spoken to my mum who has the only car in the family and she said she would be willing to travel anywhere in the east midlands at this point.
I would be interested, so that would be very helpful!

But we can't travel too far away because she's a driving instructor so she has lessons daily and needs to be back within a good time so we can't take a 5 hour drive really :/ it just wouldn't be feasible with work for both of us.

I've looked at the potteries
But I wasn't able to go there,

Have you tried Honeybunnies in Leicester?

I've messaged Honey Bunnies and they don't have any, I asked if they know any rescues who might they said they didnt and not many rescues will neuter boars.

I've not tried Sheffield can you recommend any?
Mum might he willing as it's only about an hour and a half away.

Thanks for all the responses guys,
I'm trying very hard to find Baby a friend and so far it's just not worked out with girls so my last hope is a husboar :)

I think I've looked at Barnsley and I think they didn't have any but I will check and message again :)
Thanks :)

Well now I'm just even more confused!
I thought i had found somewhere that looked promising,

A rescue had a neutered male who was a similar size and breed to Baby (Aby)
They sent me photos and everything, beautiful little boy.

They phoned me to talk me through the adoption process.
Whilst talking about Babys history she realized i already had a Neutered Male, Bear.
I had told her how Bears herd had bullied Baby to ill health,
And how when attempting to introduce her to Anya and Aurora It had gone quite badly, a small fight and then for a week afterwards very aggressive behavior through the separation on the C and C cage.

But the moment i said i had Bear she told me i should just put all my Guineas together in one big herd outside and i wont have any more issues, I tried to say that i would be worried having Baby react so badly to the girls and how The Guys outside where that original group who bullied her, but she just told me i should put them all outside together and it will be fine, and the conversation pretty much ended there,

So now I'm very confused?
Should i just put everyone together outside?
She said i should have a large hutch with a run attached permanently.
She also said that people on he internet dont know what their talking about... and that this is the solution to most issues?

Now I'm so confused! :/

Is this a rescue on our approved list ?

No its a rescue that was suggested by someone who has used them before
They have had a very good experience there, so suggested them to me when I ask
I've asked all the rescues I can reach who are on the list and none have any Neutered Males avaliable :) :)

I don't agree with the advice you have had from this rescue . Sometimes guineas don't get on with each other.

I thought that too
I am very much against the idea of throwing baby back in with the girls she very obviously had a fight with a few weeks ago :/

I am thinking of trying Bear Lottie Anya and Aurora though :)
But then Baby would be alone inside which is why I want to find her a friend :/
Then she can live with someone outside aswell during the warmer months

Hi, I have a neutered boar called Wilson, whom I got from Honeybunnies in Leicester. Sadly his piggy wife has died last week, and with a heavy heart I have arranged for him to be fostered back by honeybunnies till a permanent home can be found for him, so that he won't be lonely while he waits. Jill at honeybunnies thinks she may have a home for him, but its not confirmed so it may be worth contacting her via the email address x

I think I may have found a potential match at Barnsley who I have reserved waiting for the end of September for him to be safe to go with Baby :)

At this point I'm feeling it is worth waiting because I'm going on holiday next month and I'd feel nervous leaving a new arrival with mum to look after while I'm away as she isn't as experienced as me :)

But thank you for letting me know :)

That's fab news! :) Would this be a BARC piggy by any chance, Georgie?

It's not Georgie,
His name is Donny :)

We're all hopefully it'll go well so now we just have to wait and see :)
