I am trying the food instructions you have been giving me. Yesterday I gave him the hay that was pictured in the photos I posted. Today that hay is gone, and the clover; he ate it all! I should have cut two bundles; now he will have to wait until tomorrow for more. He nibbled on a few of the carrot pieces, but there really wasn't any gone. Tonight's new vegetable is green bell pepper. He drinks very much water. Do they all drink such large quantities of water?

It seems like Sweets is always suckin away on his water bottle. And at the same time I don't think he drinks much. Hay on the other hand goes by fast around here. He likes to pick out the fuzzy pieces and eat those and play in the rest rolleyes if he loves his water I bet he'd love cucumbers :)

I wouldn't worry too much about the water. How many refills do you have to do per day and how much does his beottle contain? My 2 will happily drink between them one whole 500ml bottle a day on warm days and others hardly touch a drop. Daft pigs...

my two go through hay at a ridiculous speed but it is their main dietary requirement so eat away boys!

With the water, i would just keep an eye on it for changes. Maybe the poor little thing hasnt had much water in its sad life.

My two never touch their water! Weird little critters!

The water bottle

It is approximately 6 ounces of water, very small bottle, and the bottle has a tiny yellow duck inside that floats on the top of the water so that you can instantly see the level. He drinks about 2/3 of the water every day so far, so that would be about 4 ounces, half a cup, 28-29 cc?

The statement about not having had too much water in the past makes sense; I rescued a cat once (I still have her, sweet thing) who was nearly dead from dehydration, and in the first 24 hours at my house she drank (get THIS!) 2.5 quarts of water, over half a gallon, 2.366 liters.

I will monitor changes in intake frequently. I was concerned because:
♦ I did not know if gp's drank a lot or at all
♦ He is so small what he drinks has to be at least eight times the size of his little stomach

Time to go cut some hay.

YOu'll find that if he gets some wetter veggies that will quench his thirst also :)
He's doing brilliantly.......... your slave duties are going nicely Pat ;):)
