Hi everyone
As some of you may know, I have been wanting to bond my 5 month old boars (who are brothers) with my older boar George. Well today was the day & it seems to have gone ok! There was a lot of mounting, teeth chattering & rumbling but they seem to have settled now. They even snuggled together at one point!
Do you all think that it has been a success - would they have fallen out by now if they were going to?

when i bonded my older girl with my three existing pigs, there were a few little spats that went on for about a week. don't be surprised if they take a little longer to assert themselves, especially as they're all boys. also, don't assume all will be fine; keep an eye on them until you're positive there'll be no proper fights or escalating squabbles.
but well done so far, you seem to have got over the first hurdle =]

The answer to that is yes and no...!:)) When I first got Benjamin, I tried bonding him with established boars Garry and Minty. Garry is very quiet and Minty is the dominant of the two. Ben is also quite dominant but they seemed to figure out a pecking order.

They first met in early February and lived together fine until early May when all hell broke loose one day. When I was watching them before, they seemed fine - each pig was socialising with both of the others. However, when fur began to fly, I noticed that both Ben and Minty were not only fighting between themselves, but they had also ganged up on Garry. It was a bit like a scene from a school playground!

I guess my advice is to keep a close eye on what is going on. Congratulations for getting them this far, but things can change very quickly with our beloved boars!:)
