As you know we lost Willow just over a month ago. I adored Willow but she was not human orientated at all. Well it turns out she wasn't Guinea Pig friendly either. Willow would spend her time going from pig to pig doing nose offs – All day every day. It turns out that this was creating a lot of anxiety within the heard and a decent amount of bickering. They never slept together, they never really hung out (although Willow would chose a random pig to sleep next to – the other pig never looked entirely comfortable) and they would run away from us.
Since she has left we can stroke three out of 4 easily and even Crunchie will tolerate some strokes. They are bickering less and they all sleep close to one another. They seem more relaxed and happy. My poor little messed up pig really wasn’t coping well with being a pig. I have no idea what the cause was as we had her from 4 weeks – the only thing I can think is that she was the only girl from the litter so was separated early and all by herself until she was 6 weeks old.
