It has taken me a little while to be able to look at photos of Sudoku and post this. I doubt my words will be good enough for my boy but I would like to remember his story rather than his end so here goes.

Sudoku came into our lives in 2011 when he was just a few weeks old. He and Cheeky were our first family guinea pigs (first with me as a grown up) and they were full of beans, super fast but quite shy with humans.

Unfortunately, they hit the teenage stage very early and hormones raged. They fought and clearly were not meant to be together - that is when Sudoku got his ear cuts which made him look tougher than he actually was! So I got some advice from of course, TGPF, and started a round of boar dating.
Sudoku met Tea Cake at a Camp Nibble, Leeds and that seemed to work really well.
Sudoku grew into a very handsome big boar - always rumbling and bold but very happy to have a snuggle with his Mum.

But someone else grew into a very big handsome boar and wanted to challenge for top spot - that was Tea Cake. So after nearly 18months of living nicely together, Sudoku had to be split up from his second partner - but only after some good times!
More in next post...

So after a period on his own after Tea Cake (but in out piggie room so still close to several other boys) he then went to see my friend at BARC, Paula and she helped me bond him with one of my other boys,a bereaved boar Barney Bubbles in Jan 2014. I was a bit sceptical about this pairing but I don't know why because they were brilliant together. Completely daft for the most part - climbing on one another, rumbling and chasing and then having big naps to recover!

Napping

The whole family loved watching them together and they were such a partnership - Sudoku looked after Barney Bubbles through various illnesses too. here they are after a fungal bath!

Sudoku was super healthy and strong and had never been to the vet until this year. Then sadly he lost some weight, we had him xrayed and found a stone at the top of his urethra. That was fixed but he never fully recovered after the op and gradually drifted away from us despite intensive care for him. Here he is near the end having a gentle cuddle with my son :(.

But apart from that difficult last month, we hope Sudoku had a lovely life with our family. We miss him so much and so does Barney Bubbles.
Sleep well, Sudoku our beautiful bold boar. x. My favourite pic of him to end.

A beautiful tribute- you have done your boy proud. Sleep tight sudoku xx

Your tribute is so touching. I am sure your boy would be very proud.
You painted a beautiful picture of a wonderful, personality filled boy.
I am so sorry for your loss, but what an amazing life to have shared.

@lauraboara you have done your boy proud. That is a wonderful tribute with beautiful photos. I know how hard you fought for him. I followed his story intently, as you know I lost Mr Ted to a stone earlier this year, too. Try to remember him at his glorious best and not as he was at the end. Popcorn free Sudoku. His to you and BarneyBubbles x

Thanks Vicki - that is really kind of you and I know that it must be hard to read about Sudoku's illness when thinking about Mr Ted too :(. I'd like to think they are both larking around in a meadow somewhere now.

Such a lovely tribute to a very handsome and clearly much-loved piggy. I too followed his issues, though couldn't add anything useful, but hoped for a much better outcome.
He was very blessed to have found himself in your care and I'm glad he found his soul-mate. I hope that Barney Bubbles will be OK.
Be free at the Bridge sweet little man x

I am so sorry. Sudoku had the most wonderful life with you and couldn't have been more loved anywhere else. You did everything you could for him remember that, he was so loved and cherished. Massive hugs x

Sleep well handsome boy
