I know we have the hutch gallery, but I think that it would be nice to have a closed sticky which only has the photographs of cages on.

So for example, Laura-CCC4 made a thread back in April I think it was detailing how she built her new tower C&C cages. But now, if I want to see for inspiration, I have to search for her thread and newer members will have missed it altogether unless they are specifically searching for somthing.

On the sticky I am suggesting, the poster could contact and admin/mod or whoever has access to editing that sticky to request their cage be added. It could then be added with a couple of photos (URL links supplied by the cage builder) and the link to the original cage build thread so that if people had questions, they could direct them to the person who built he cage rather than fill the sticky up.

I like looking through the housing thread, but sometimes it's hard to see everyones designs (particularly on the "The Guinea Pig Cage & Hutch Gallery" sticky) once peoples questions and comments come in.

Just a thought :)

:)p:)p

Just as an addition, it may be useful to spilt the threads into three?

One for C & C, one for ready built indoor cages and one for hutches. May make it easier to search for what you're looking for? ;)

Yes - That would be really good! Would save people looking through all the indoor ones if they know they are going to be keeping their piggies outdoors. Could even have a piggy shed one.

OoooooOOOOOO yes, yes, yes, Fabulous idea. A whole thread of piggy home pictures. I love looking at pictures of piggy homes.drooldrooldroolinbreeding

Maybe you could start one? I'd like to see the c&c cages separate :))

Sorry, just saw this.

Would it be worth me un-sticking the other thread and creating 3 new ones then? I'll see what the other mods think. I also think we have to be quite clear on people posting pictures of cages that appear crowded in the pictures as we wouldn't want any new folk seeing them and thinking that it was acceptable.

My main concern is the number of stickies already on that section but I'll have a look at ones that haven't been posted on in a while and review it.

It's a lot of work for you, but yes, it would be awesome! So hutches/sheds, c&c, shop bought and maybe a fourth category for all the non- c&c homemade indoor cages?

A lot of the cages in the sticky are in terminated photobucket accounts that can't be viewed too...

I love looking at peoples piggy homes. To go though the existing gallery and split them all out would be a lengthy task i think that we should just make the sections sticky and then we can start adding to the relevant section.

What I'll do tonight is sit and make a thread condensing all the bedding ones into one (one thread that has links to each of the review threads) to de-clutter that section of the forum.

Then I could post 3 more threads per cage type (hutch, traditional, C&C) and stick that with a note to say pictures only, comments will be removed and posts with dead links will also be removed. I'd let people post their own pics as they'll have copyright and it means that nobody would have to go through and sift through links for individual photos.

That seem like a plan?

Fine by me Lorna :)

I've just had a quick peek and feel its going to work really well :) I know its a lot of work to maintain with deleting comments and dead pics etc but I think in the long run it will be well worth it :)p Thanks again x

I'd like to see a thread for runs, as I'm currently looking for a new one either to buy or make and I'm needing insperation :)
