Sunny has hurt his leg

Please send healing hugs to Sunny. I think he has dislocated or fractured one of his front legs. He is holding it up against his body and not moving around too much, it is floppy too :-\

I have an appt at vets this evening :(

Well the vet xrayed his leg and there was no break/dislocation. She thinks it is an infection in the soft tissue, possibly from a hay splinter which went into the pad of his foot :(
He had a shot of baytril and metacam for the pain and I have to give him baytril for 5 days. I have more metacam and some bio lapis as well. Poor little darling :-\ :smitten: :smitten:

Ouch poor little guy. Hope the meds kick in quickly and he soon begins to feel much better.
 
Good news is the swelling has gone down a bit but he is still holding the paw to his chest and not weight bearing, he is eating and hopping around a little but mostly sleeping. He has been taking his antibiotic and probiotic like an angel :smitten: :smitten:

I will give him a drop of metacam tonight so he is comfortable. Thank you for all your get well wishes :smitten:

Muscle sprain and bruising will take a few days to ease.He should be better within a week.
 
Hi Lavenderjade....welcome back! Sorry I just saw your post about Sunny! Poor little Sunny! I hope he's feeling better. I wonder how that happened. Maybe all the jumping around these little guys do! Update on Sunny, the joint that was hurt seemed ok and swelling had gone down, then the wrist joint on the other hand swelled up and again he is hopping on 3 legs. I have been giving him baytril as a precaution since Friday evening but it isnt making any difference :( I have another appt at vets tomorrow evening, will keep you updated. I am baffled on this one and have pulled his cage apart and I cannot see anything he can be injuring himself on, his cage mate Timmy is fine :(
