Only jsut posting the last thread and suddenly Hamish has turned into a monster. He's been chasing Robin like a crazy guinea and has lunged once. I think the moving and sudden change of environment has caused a sudden swing in moods and Hamish has become a serious little trouble maker.

Right now Robin is sitting in the litter tray looking pretty scared and Hamish is eating some dry food...

My plan for tomorrow was to bath them then move them into their new fleeced cage...is it worth seperating them tonight and bathing them both tomorrow? I think things will be fine if I put them back in their cage as they've gotten used to the scents and space of the old cage during out holiday...this is clearly all a little new for them and I'm worrying that's the problem.

Gah! I'm all alone in the flat, I do NOT need this! 8...

I don't know what to advise, still quite new to piggies but I hope someone will be along soon with something more helpful to say.

Thank you anyway chuck *hugs*

Ok at the moment Hamish is in the run on his own and he's acting VERY restless. Bashing things around and chewing on everything he can find, walking round and round.
Robin is hiding in his hidey hole in the cage...he's clearly a stressed boy.

I think the hormones are pumping through Hamish right now...never seen him this aggitated looking. Though he's not really making much noise, just the odd wheek.

Man...stress >.<

My girls sometimes appear to go into moods and strut around the cage stopping the other one from getting out of their hidey home. Maybe its hormones or as you say the change to the enviroment. I'm sure if you seperated them they would probably start pining for each other. Maybe dominance is being established. I know that with my girls, Matilda is boss. However, on occasion Lady Penelope will try to exert herself. Piggies! What are they like. Causing us piggie slaves so much worry. Hope they settle.

See I find that sometimes too, but this seemed a little more esculated than normal - the hackles were well up on Hamish, he was swaying, yawning, chattering, advancing and after the first lunge and continuous chasing I thought there is no way he's gonna leave Robin in peace without me hanging over the run preventing him from doing so.

God I love them...but they have chosen the wrong day to stress me out! I need a drink! @)

I think Hamish needs a drink! That will calm him down. :(|):(|)

hope the break from each other it not permanent! maybe try them again in a neutral enviroment?

Boys seem to be more "territorial" than girls, and a new environment can seriously throw them.

So it might be a good idea to give them a bath and reintroduce them in a neutral place. Brace yourself for having to go through all the motions. Hopefully, the two will settle down again in their new cage, once they've got their bearings.

After things calmed down I put Hamish back in the cage and so far not a peep from them - Hamish has been in and out of his hidey, Robin has popped his head out - but all is fine.
I think it's cause they know their boundaries in the wee cage. Tomorrow after their bath I will put them on neautral ground to dry and then move into the fresh clean hutch.

Here's hoping it works out!
