Hi there TGPF, both Joey and Bluebear, our two (Now teen) boars have been happy and healthy; we’ve observed Bluebear getting some sort of brown, sticky, sweet-smelling substance on his nose quite regularly recently, which has been quite odd - We’re certain that it’s not mucus as the debris hasn’t gone anywhere near his nostrils, just on the surface fur on the upmost tip of his nose; we clean it off with warm water and kitchen roll when we notice it, but are still perplexed as it seems to be a daily occurance.

One thing to note is that we observed Bluebear seemingly ejaculating for the first time ad-hoc on some new Guineadad peepads, which leads to me thinking that he’s maybe pooping in his ejaculate, sniffing it and getting it stuck to his nose? We do spot clean them twice daily, and noticed tonight some mushed poop in some sort of dry-wet patch in one of their tunnels; we think this may be where he’s getting it from.

I’ve attached photos of what appears to be the ejaculate after the first time we noticed it, as well as pics of Bluebear’s dirtied nose for reference; any clue on what it could be?

Hi!

The white substance is call 'boar glue', a very apt description of dried semen fluid which boars, especially teenagers, can produce in ample quantities and get just about everywhere.

His nose looks like he has stuck it where the sun doesn't shine. you can either try to wipe it gently with a damp rag or wait for your boy to clean it off or whatever it is to dry up and eventually fall off.
