I just wanted to check if guinea pigs can eat sweetcorn? I have some in the fridge that will run out in a couple of days

I buy packs of four and i have three girls and they have two at a time. Some time i can only get two whole ones in a pack at they get one at a time. I tend to give them to them last thing at night with hay so they can munch on something through the night.

If they are the large cobs, then I cut it into about four pieces and give two at any one sitting (hard work but manageable).
I tend to buy baby corns as they are portion sized

I don't need to cook it do I?

Mine love corn cobs.
I buy the small ones - as in already cut - and the 4 piggies get one to share as an occasional treat.
I also buy baby corn - they get 2 between the four of them.

I give mine uncooked sweet corn. I cut one in half and give half to Finn and half to Lara. I give these as occasional treats for variety sake and not as a regular meal.
The only things on their regular meal is the romaine lettuce and cilantro. Other veggies and fruits rotate constantly for variety sake including sweet corn.

You can feed all parts of a fresh sweetcorn cob (corn, husk and silk), just no processed (tinned/frozen) sweetcorn. the same as with any veg.
I would also not recommend any dried sweetcorn cob from the pet shop; the corn has got a bad habit of getting stuck on the teeth. :(

Please be aware that sweetcorn is 'energy dense' and high in sugars, which means it should be a special treat and not part of a regular diet as it is rather fattening.

Mine love babycorn but only sliced not whole. They are very fussy about how things get sliced! And they despise the pointy ends, must be neat little circles :) they wont touch big corn at all, got to be little bite size morsels!

What very fussy pigs. I just chuck veg in the general direction of my guinea pigs and its cut into all shapes and sizes. They get 2 carrot peelings each per night. Otherwise it's what I happen have in the fridge.

Mine are very fussy about how things are sliced weirdly lol

Mine often have a half of a mini sweetcorn once in a while but recently I haven’t been able to get them. they were substituted for the big ones in yesterday’s shopping order so this morning I sliced a bit off for them. Just found one of the piggies with this thing stuck to his teeth almost filling his mouth. he was walking around shaking his head and I suddenly saw something in his mouth, i couldn’t work out what it was but I think it was the sweetcorn husk. From now on he’s only having the corns if I take them off first.
