Have you ever had a guinea that enjoys swimming or even know that they can?

For piggies that are unable to excercise much can benefit a lot from swimming.. My Tipsy used to love being in the water when it was bath time in the kitchen sink!

We used to make the water a bit deeper and she would paddle going round in circles!

We did the same when Jin had his accident, he was unable to walk and would pull himself around.. water helped out a lot..

Swim zubin sinks hehe that or leaps at me drenching me your piggies sound very well behaved but then Zub is VERY nervous the baby runs around in the water and popcorned once but no swimming as yet would be lovely to see though x
 
yeah, not all like water or swim..

Tonic's ok in the bath and the majority of the girls like them too.. Tiny hates them, I end up having a bath too! LOL
 
Sounds like zubin i put him in for a few seconds then he leaps on to my shoulder covering me in water!
 
Riffy has shown a desire to swim. He loves baths and starts paddling, but the water isn't deep enough. I keep intending to give him a deeper bath to see how he gets on. I think he might enjoy it.
 
well worth a try lovey.. if you have a bath, try filling it with a few inches of warm water then see how he goes.

Or just try it for now now in the sink.. Piggies version of hydrotherapy!
 
I mat try that tho I would be scared in case the drown is the a water hight you would recommend?
 
Stroma - just a couple of inches to get them used to it - then next time, add another inch, but dont go too deep so that piggies can drown..

Never leave them unsupervised! Cos they will get tired quicker, the warmth of the water makes them relax, but the water makes it easier for them to move!

Mm, I read about 'hydrotherapy' for piggies in one of Peter Gurney's books. Apparently it is really good for piggies. Also the act of drying themselves off after works their muscles if they have had an injury.
