My mums just texted me saying her friend who recently lost one of her sows, wants me to take on the remaining girl.Ive said yes of course as I lost one of mine a few weeks ago and it would be lovely to see her guinea pig happy with company again. She said it's too upsetting to lose them so she doesn't want another one and wants her remaining one to be happy again.I think that's a good pet owner as it will be very hard for her to part with her.

That's a kind thing you're doing and I 100% agree- a loving owner often has to make some very hard decisions but every decision must put the pet first. :) hope all goes well for.you- must have pic

Once I've picked her up I will post some pics.If I remember rightly she's white in colour.Ill most probably pick her up Friday on my day off x

Exciting times for you, and a lovely thing for your Mum's friend, knowing that her last piggy has gone to a loving home.

It's kind of you to take in this lonely girl. Sounds like a perfect solution for the lonely piggy and her caring owner. I've got my fingers crossed all goes well with the introductions.

She has landed on her feet with an owner like you. Must be very reassuring for them to give her up to someone who will provide her with the best

The nipping is part of dominance. My five are constantly nipping each other and they are a well established herd they have lived happily together for around 10 months now. I would say that if they are lying next to each other and Fuzzy is so chilled out then that is a good sign. The other 2 don't seem all that bothered either. I am no expert but I think things look like they are heading in the right direction. However, other more experienced members may disagree.

Thanks, Ive read through the bonding guides but I'm still struggling to work out what everything means x

Well it looks as if it's going well, my boars were a nightmare trying to bond, whether it was a sow or another boar. I was always surprised how well the girls got on. Glad she came to you, will your friend come & visit her now & again.

@Wiebke does this look like it's going to work from my photos and what has happened so far? The New Guinea pig sits in the corner most of the time so I'm wondering whether she has accepted my 3.

I think she will, she messaged earlier asking how it was going x

View attachment 66931 View attachment 66932 Here's another pic.My 3 have flopped out lol and fuzzy is lying near snowbell after nipping her a few times previously. Is this a good sign?

It looks very positive. the nipping is mild dominnce behaviour, which means that acceptance has happened and they are currently working out the hierarchy. Sleeping together between rounds is VERY positive! :tu:

The new one, snowbell is hiding in the fleece house this morning. She didn't come out for hay or veggies.I'm worried she doesn't like my 3 pigs.Shes definitely keeping her distance from them.

Came home and she's still hiding in her house.Could she just be nervous?

Aww. She might just take time to adjust. hope it all goes well.
