My Guinea pig recently took a bit jump from my arms and landed funny. It wasn't very high he jumped just before I put him back in his cage. I've felt for broken bones and he seems fine he's walking fine and jumping and no limping or anything. He seems his usual self, however since then he has been chattering his teeth a lot and making noises (talking) to himself, he lives in his own cage we have another boy but they are still in separate cages for now. I don't know if I'm maybe over thinking this but he's never made these constant teeth chattering sounds before

If it's loud enough you can hear the teeth, that means it's at least irritated atm. The talking to themselves thing can vary, depending on the sound. If exploring, it's one sound. If it's tired of getting petted or maybe pipes up when you are ending lap time and starting to pick it up, that's another sound. If it's in actual pain, I imagine it'd be obvious.

It might be sore or something, or maybe it experienced a sprain, etc.. If it's grinding teeth is loud and remains constant, take it to the vet and get an x-ray or whatever they suggest. Worse case you are out some $$ but at least know it's ok. Best case they find something and can treat it.

FWIW, my boar tries launching out of my hand into the bedding. What I've done that works well is hold other hand in front of it's face as it's being lowered. That stops the jumping or wanting to jump.

Thank you for replying, he never jumped from me before I was so shocked when he did it I'm not sure if he needed the toilet so tried to rush back to his cage. It sounds like he's sniffing very loud but I can't work out if it's like he's got a bit of a cold or if it's chattering teeth. He has grinded his teeth before when petting him but this is constantly in his cage. He seems to just talk when he's walking round or going for a drink or just sitting there it's quite high pitch but quiet. I don't think he's in pain but I feel like something is bothering him, I think I'm going to see what he's like in a few days and maybe take him for a check up see what they say if he carries on.

My boar is vocal when he's irritated, and it's like he's whining it short, broken words. I've maybe "heard" his teeth chatter twice since getting him, and it was extremely brief (like 2 seconds at most). If your pig is constantly chattering his teeth and you hear it (my sow moves her lower jaw like she's always chewing something, a LOT but there's no actual sound to it) something might be wrong. If it's breathing sounds like a diaphragm clicking back and forth (think of a dog clicker clicking every 1/2 second but in a lower frequency) that's a breathing issue. Could be URI or something internal if it started happening after the fall.

If it stops eating and acts differently, definitely don't ignore it.
