I've just noticed that one of Spuds front top inscisors are slightly different lengths. I've never had tooth probelms with the pigs as I usually take up their quota! When do I need to worry. They don't look abnormally long just slightly different. I really don't want to take him to the vet because I don't trust them & can't manage a trip to Cambridge to the CCT because they can't let children on to their premeses. Any suggestions? Maybe I will try & get a pic...

ps I would like to add that if any of my animals were in serious need of a vet I would move heaven & earth to get them there - even if it meant a drive to Cambridge in the middle of the night....you know what I'm getting at!

Hi

Are the teeth growing at an angle or is one slightly longer that the other? If they are at an angle it could be a sign of problems with the molars as well.

I have taken the dental training course at the CCT. I see that you are in Nottingham, I am in Leicester but work in Nottingham so slightly nearer to you than Cambridge. Iif I can be of help please let me know.

Tonic's teeth recently, have been like this, but he tends to gring them down too after a while.

In my opinion it should be fine, but if Spud stops eating or you notice any unusual difference in himself, then have it checked out.

Scarby has this with his incisors. They break off and grow back again no problem.

maisie had this her top two teeth were very uneven and it turned out to be a jaw problem so watch very carefully that hes eating,

Hi Thumpinbun! (great name btw)

They aren't crossed over just one slightly longer than the other. I'll get a pic later. I was thinking about doing the teeth course at the CCT in January. I would be greatful if you could have a look. PM me with where you work in Notts & I could prob meet you on a lunch break for your opinion - if not I 'should' be in Leicester before xmas but it will be within work hours....

Thanks peeps x

They're ok now, I have changed their food & he's been chomping away which has obviously worn them down. Fussy little sod!
Its quite shocking how quickly they wear down - they def haven't broken either.

When little Bab had problems with his teeth Vedra put me in touch with a lovely lady who lives in Nottingham who is very experienced and just lovely with the piggies. It was a long journey for us but if you live in Nottingham I'm sure Vedra would give you her telephone number. Little Bab did not survive his problems but the lady who sorted his teeth out made such a difference to his quality of life in his last few weeks. I'm sure if his teeth had been the only problem he would have made a full recovery. Its certainly worth a try. I hope you get it sorted out and all is soon well.
