I haven't been able to get out in my car since Sunday. I have had to take the bus to work and face hour long waits in the freezing cold as they are severly delayed and going 10mph! I do a veg shop on a monday normally and another mid week. I have nothing in except a bag of sprouts some apples and a cucumber which is getting smaller by the minute!

I am worried about my pigs hopefully they will be ok for a few days until I can get to a shop. They had apple, cucumber and sprouts yesterday. Today they only got cucumber as i daren't give them sprouts or apple two days running!

It's terrible. We have nothing to eat except frozen junk also but we will survive!

The worst part is I am expecting guests on Christmas afternoon / evening and need to get some drinks and some party nibbles and just can't. it is so stressful!

The roads here are so dangerous and we can't even get off the drive anyway! I HATE the snow!

I feel for you I really do. I live near Rochdale but I live up in the hills and it is bad here too. I am working nightshifts at the minute but am luckily just managing to drive to and from work.

As fir the pigs, just keep their dry food ad hay topped up and they should be fine for a coupe of days. (((hugs))) x

Have you considered ordering your groceries over the internet and having your shopping delivered? On the other hand, I am unsure whether they would be delivered in time for Christmas.

Your piggies can survive for some time without veg, provided they get pellets and plenty of fresh water and hay! It's not ideal, but if you can't you can't! I'm sure that you will try to get fresh veg as soon as possible!

Neither Taffy nor my newly adopted coronets did even know what vegetables were when they arrived in rescue!

Please do NOT try to feed them defrosted veg.

I know only to feed them fresh veg which is the problem. I doubt they would deliver here as I won't dare drive here at the minute! I'm hoping they might let us out early tomorrow then I will get two buses home and go via supermarket, They will have to have light veggies only though as every one who normally drives is taking the bus and I haven't had a seat in two days! Also it is a good trek from bus stop to home so my arms would be killing by the time I got home!

Well, good luck for tomorrow - remind you employer it is Christmas! However, if your cavies are similar to mine, they are unlikely to show their apprecation. rolleyes

oh poor piggies i dont realise how lucky i am I'm only 20mins from shopping centre but the co-op is only round the corner so i pop in there quite often. have you got any grass?i know when ive been a bit low on selection ive popped to the local church yard and "borrowed" some grass for them :))

Our grass is five inches deep in snow :))

Anyway managed to get to supermarket today I drove and it was scarey so that it is now I have stocked up and will not venture out in my car again until the weather subsides (hopefully by weekend if I'm lucky).

They got a few items that I don't normally buy as are expensive to say sorry for the wait! :)) I got them some of morrisons pepper stir fry as only contains, carrot, cabbage, pepper and beansprouts, They also got a couple of bags of expensive lettuce leaves which will last them a couple of days.

They probably think it is christmas today :))
