I'd just like to thank you all for the advice i was given re my piggy Junior, i know i must come across as an irresponsible pet owner by not affording to take him to the vets. but with your help he is 100 times better, his fur is growing back, he is eating more veggies, and is loving the diluted orange, he isnt keen on the vit c tablets ... I'm yet to find it in liquid form, but he is much much happier. I put the xeno 450 on him a week ago and as instructed will put it on again next week which will be the 2 weeks and see how we go from there.

Thank you :))

Great news about your guinea pig. The Xeno will make a big difference.

I would strongly advise you though not to give the orange squash anymore. There is no Vitamin C in it (but there are many other chemicals in it) and it's a completely unnecessary supplement.

As long as he is now eating a well balanced [*]natural[/*] diet including hay, many different fresh vegetables and some fresh fruit there is no need for supplements of any kind.

It is only at times of stress and ill health that a good quality Vitamin C supplement should be given, now he is on the mend he should get all he needs from the fresh food on offer.

:)

I got some liquid vitamin C from pets at home a couple of days after i rescued my girls. I didnt realise that i didnt need it unless my piggie was ill.

Dont feel guilty about not being able to afford the vets. There was a time in the summer when i have no money whatsoever. I'm a student, i couldnt get a job and the job centre wouldnt give me job seekers allowance as I'm a student. i was completely broke but my boyfriend did pay for all the piggies food etc for me so that was brilliant. If something had happened to them at that point i dont think i would have been able to afford the vet. At least you give your piggy a good loving home which some piggies dont even get!

I'm glad your piggies feeling alot better! Go you :)
