Today is dustbin day, l wrote a letter to the dustbin men and stuck it on the bin, also to the postman, thanking them for their hardworking in these trying times. It let's them know we appreciate what they doing.

That's very thoughtful . I would like to be able to thank the truck drivers too who transport out food both in the UK and from continental Europe too. Apparently they are having a really hard time of it with facilities including toilets being shut in service stations 😟

They are finding it very hard ,my son is along distant hgvs driver, trying to buy enough food to last the week, not knowing if the next service station is open or not.

Please thank him and his fellow drivers for me. I really appreciate what they do and think it is terrible they are not better provided for.

I'll do this on Monday. They deserve it.

As to a blanket thanks to delivery drivers..........I live on RH corner of two cul de sacs, but I have a cherry tree on the boundary.

A driver decided that it would be fine to fell a hhhuuuggee branch of the tree if it meant he didn't have to move the parcel by hand a few metres by reversing into my road with his huge tall lorry that would have decimated my tree.

I stood and (sorry) swore at him when it was obvious he would take off a tree limb. He was, eventually, good and moneuvred the goods by hand the few feet to the house. I was fulsome in my thanks and he apologised. But who thought it was ok to take off a quarter of a tree of probably 70 years old just to save moving a parcel a very few metres?

I emailed the head office if Morrison’s to thank the staff for their hard work two weeks ago. No response. I will follow your example. Great idea 😁

All service stations are open on our network and we've advertised the fact on the message boards. :tu:
