You send your hubby shopping for piggy veg and he comes back with the lettuce off the list but it's iceberg and then says "what the hell is spring greens?" Followed by - oh I wondered why you kept buying that stuff "I took a guess and brought kale instead"...

Good job he's finally relented to the endless rescue photos I send him and I now have a boar reserved for my girls... Now piggy daddy, you have a lot of lettuce to eat this week :))

Our piggy daddy came back with wet slimy coriander that was not fit for piggies last weekend... he's eating it in his chilli, me and the precious piggywigs have fresh rocket watercress spinach salad instead :)

So I can't keep it to myself anymore. We have reserved Pluto from Neville's Nest. He has only just been neutered so we have some weeks to wait until he is ready to meet the girls and the nerve wracking moment of whether Daisy will accept him (she is minimum 5 years old, possibly older). She absolutely doted on Donald to the extent of over grooming and his long hair never was allowed to grow again! We all feel a big loss from Donald's departure, I love the dynamic of a boar with sows so I really hope this does work out.

Pluto  what a cool name! He sooooo handsome! Our ladies are swooning when I showed them his boarly photo!

What a handsome boy Pluto is, hope your girls accept him after his post-op wait! Is he going to come home with you before then and meet them through the bars as a neighbour?

Aah congratulations! Saw him on the site, what a cutie  Hope all goes well with him and the ladies when he’s ready to join them x

So exciting, and I am sure that lovely Donald would heartily approve.
I always think it is extra special when after the loss of a piggy you are able to open your hearts to offer another one a chance of a wonderful life.

Can't wait for the bonding updates in a few weeks time.

He can't unfortunately as my girls are outdoors. Julia is keeping him at the rescue so that he continues to have company of the surrounding piggies (he's currently cage sharing with Garfield who I adore but sadly looks too much like Donald for me to consider).

Well he'll be a lovely surprise for your girls then when the time comes! We were all so sorry about Donald but its great you're looking to the future for your girls, a husboar does bring a special something extra to a piggy group (usually special smells!)

I envision no problems from the younger girls and i cant for the life of me imagine Daisy causing problems but you never do known until you try

Hopefully your girls will love Pluto/Badger/Better name that those 2.

I jokingly told a work colleague that if that's the type of names hubby is going to come up with perhaps I let him name the piggies so when we have kids I can tell him it's my turn to pick a name :lol!: Now I'm starting to think perhaps that's genuinely a good idea

I'm really looking forward to those special smells (not) when my lot go into the garage. There is a personnel door from the sun room into the garage. I may have to open the window in the garage so that the smell doesn't pervade into the sun room and house.
